Custard is one of my favorite desserts of all time ever since my childhood, especially when added with fruits and toppings of dry fruits and nuts in it.
As I remember it's been prepared almost on every occasion at my home. Fruit custard has made its place in everyone's heart among my family members. When I first learned how to make the custard using Foster Clark custard powder I almost made it as a thick paste 😜 since the ratio of custard powder was more than required.
Now I have perfected making Custard after trying it several times with failure.
But here I have thought of recreating the recipe of the fruit custard with a twist.
I will be sharing the recipe of Jam rolled Custard with step by step pictures.
All you need is a few ingredients and you have the delicious dessert ready to be served.
First, you need to prepare the custard and cool it down to room temperature or be it warm so that when you pour it over the jam rolls it won't make them soggy.
Ingredients:
5 sliced bread
1ltr milk
1cup sugar
Jam
Custard Powder
Garnish
Chopped Almonds
Black Raisins
Raisins
Chopped Cashew nuts
* Take the sliced bread and roll it flat. once you have all the bread slices rolled, apply your favorite jam and spread all over the bread. I have used mixed fruit jam and pineapple jam since those were the only jam available.😂
* Now roll it into a cylindrical shape as shown in the picture.
*
* Arrange all the bread rolls in a tray or a container. once these are aligned now comes the time to pour the prepared custard.
* As said make sure the custard is not too hot since they can make the bread roll soggy.
* Once the custard is poured over the bread roll allow it to settle and then cool it.
* Make sure to refrigerate the dish for around 30-45 mins before serving.
* At last garnish, the jam rolled custard with dry fruits and nuts.
Serve it chill. 😊
